We are working with our partners, Wessex Archaeology to clarify for project managers the position of ecology and archaeology within BIM.
As defined by The National Building Information Model Standard Project Committee, Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a digital representation of physical and functional characteristics of a facility. A building information model is a shared knowledge resource for information about a facility forming a reliable basis for decisions during its life-cycle; defined as existing from earliest conception to demolition.
Thomson Ecology’s interactive mapping application, TIM, can be integrated with a BIM system.
We will run a breakfast workshop on this subject in London in December this year, if there is enough interest.
