As part of our client’s reptile mitigation works, working on a site in Swansea we installed over 800m of temporary reptile fencing, and put down 800 felt reptile refugia. We also installed 6 log pile reptile hibernacula.
We cleared over a hectare of vegetation including dense scrub, trees and shrubs using hand tools, and excavators were used where suitable and under an ecological watching brief. We chipped the arisings and left them in situ along with some logs to act as biodiversity enhancements.
Areas of this site required our staff to hold the PTS (personal track safety) accreditation.
