With the spotlight increasingly focused on how renewable energy projects impact on the environment, particularly wildlife and habitats, Thomson Ecology will be discussing the options for developers, contractors and end-client providers at this year’s RenewableUK conference and exhibition in Birmingham, 5-7 November.
“Stand 4 will be a hub for all things ecology and biodiversity,” says Thomson Ecology’s senior commercial manager, Mike Harris. “My colleagues on the stand are expert consultant ecologists and marine biologists, with extensive project management experience of multiple, complex renewable energy developments in terrestrial and marine habitats. We are keen for delegates to come along to discuss their projects and how we can assist them.”
Thomson Ecology is the leading independent ecology specialist in the UK and has successfully delivered all aspects of ecology at every stage of the project for both onshore and offshore renewable energy schemes. Daniel Bastreri, principal marine consultant, who will be at the conference, says: “Our ability to cover all ecosystems can help clients to achieve a strategic, integrated view of potential impacts and the opportunities for approaches such as biodiversity offsetting and ecological mitigation. This in turn helps clients to manage risk and deliver complex projects on time and to budget.”
