Thomson Ecology today won a court case against one of its former employees, Mr David Hall, and another company, Apem Limited. The High Court in London was satisfied that the evidence of unlawful conduct by Hall and Apem was so compelling that it entered summary judgement against them without there even being a full trial.
The case concerns the poaching of certain of Thomson’s Unicomarine employees by Hall last year. The Court held that he had lied and acted unlawfully whilst still employed by Thomson and that Apem had tried to register an internet name and a limited company name which would have unfairly misled Thomson’s clients about whom they were dealing with.
Commenting on today’s win, Nancy Thomson, CEO, stated:
“We are delighted that we have been able to expose the lengths that Dave Hall and Apem went to in their unsuccessful attempts to destabilize our business. Although we positively embrace all fair competition, what we were determined to ensure through these proceedings was that the improper lengths that Hall and Apem went to were exposed to the market.”
